How to add Google reviews to GoDaddy
Add a Google reviews widget to GoDaddy Websites + Marketing with an HTML section, then set its height and check the live site.
Updated October 2026
Quick answer
- Open your Websites + Marketing site in the editor and go to the page.
- Add a section, search for HTML, and add it.
- Paste the VerifiedWidget script into the Custom Code field, raise Forced Height if the widget is cut off, then preview and publish.
These steps are for Websites + Marketing, not a GoDaddy-hosted WordPress site (see the WordPress guide for that).
What you need
A saved VerifiedWidget widget and edit access to a GoDaddy Websites + Marketing site. GoDaddy also has a native Reviews section that can connect to Google; compare it with the next section before adding a second display.
Add Google reviews in five steps
Create the review widget
In VerifiedWidget, connect your business using its Google Maps link. Confirm the correct listing, review dates, and imported count. Choose a grid for a wide section, a list for a narrower one, or a slider for a compact contact page. Save the widget and copy its complete script tag from the Embed dialog. The Free plan has one widget, up to 20 reviews refreshed monthly, and 10,000 monthly views.
Open the Websites + Marketing editor
Sign in to GoDaddy and open your Websites + Marketing site in the website editor. The exact button names vary a little by region. Open the page where you want the reviews. GoDaddy has a native Reviews section and a separate HTML section; for the VerifiedWidget script, add an HTML section. This guide is for Websites + Marketing, not a GoDaddy-hosted WordPress site. WordPress uses a Custom HTML block or its page builder instead.
Add the HTML section and paste the code
At the chosen position on the page, add a section. Search for HTML and choose Add. Paste the entire VerifiedWidget script into the Custom Code field. Keep the source HTTPS and do not replace the script with a Google Maps URL. GoDaddy says the HTML section supports HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The editor saves changes automatically; use Preview and then publish the site when the section is placed correctly.
Set the section height
GoDaddy's HTML section offers a Forced Height control. Leave it blank for automatic height at first. If the widget is cut off or missing, set enough pixels to contain the complete display, including the longest visible review and any controls. A height of 0 pixels effectively removes the section. Because embedded content runs inside an iframe, automatic sizing and responsive behavior can be imperfect; adjust the section after viewing the live page.
Publish and test the visitor view
Open the published page in a private window and on a phone. Check the review text, attribution, links, and whether the bottom card is clipped. GoDaddy runs the code inside a frame, which may not report your own domain. If you turn on VerifiedWidget's domain allowlist and the widget goes blank, the browser console will say the site is not on the allowed domains list. In that case, turn the allowlist off for this widget. Compare the published result with Preview before telling customers the reviews are ready.
GoDaddy's built-in Reviews section or an HTML widget?
GoDaddy Websites + Marketing has a native Reviews section. Its help page says it can connect to Google Business Profile, Facebook or Yelp (where available) and display up to nine reviews. Visitors must visit the original site to read the rest. It can also hold reviews entered manually. GoDaddy says newly written reviews may take up to 48 hours to appear. This is a practical choice if you want a small review section managed entirely in GoDaddy. Follow GoDaddy's connection prompts and check exactly which source is selected.
VerifiedWidget gives you a separate review display with layout and filtering controls, review collections, and a script you can also use on another website. Its Free plan has 20 imported reviews and monthly refreshes; automatic syncing is paid. That is useful if you need a larger curated display or a matching widget across sites, but the HTML iframe takes more care with height and mobile sizing. Compare the published appearance and current plan details for your own site. Avoid showing the native section and a second widget with the same reviews immediately next to one another.
Best placements and section sizing
For a homepage, add the HTML section after the main service introduction and before the contact prompt. A grid can work if the section has enough width and height. On a product or service page, a shorter list below the details is less likely to distract from the primary action. A contact page can use a short list near the form. Avoid the badge here. It floats in a screen corner, but inside GoDaddy's frame it can only float within the section. A booking page should place reviews beside the service explanation, leaving the appointment flow clear. If you add the same widget to several pages, check monthly view usage because every page load can count.
GoDaddy's HTML section renders embedded code inside an iframe. That frame can clip content even if the review layout itself is responsive. Start with Forced Height blank, then inspect the public page. If the bottom is cut off, increase the height in pixels until all visible cards, controls, and source links fit. GoDaddy specifically warns that a height of 0 removes the section. Do not solve clipping by shrinking text until it is hard to read. A compact widget layout is a better choice when the section is narrow.
Mobile check before publishing
Use GoDaddy Preview for a first look, then open the published URL on a real phone. Read the longest card. Check that links can be tapped and the iframe has enough height after text wraps. GoDaddy's troubleshooting guide says an iframe embed may not respond exactly like its original content. If there is a large blank area after the reviews, lower Forced Height carefully and recheck the longest review. If the section is too wide, switch from a grid to a list or slider rather than squeezing three cards into a narrow phone screen.
Look for overlap with a sticky contact button or booking control. A review section should not trap scrolling or cover the action the visitor came to take. Check any custom domain and temporary GoDaddy domain separately if both are public.
Widget not showing? Follow these checks
- Preview is not published. The editor saves automatically, but visitors only see the site after you publish.
- Wrong section. It must be an HTML section, not the native Reviews section or a text section.
- Forced Height. A value of 0 removes the section, and a short frame hides the rest of a long widget.
- HTTP embeds. GoDaddy does not guarantee HTTP code; the script must be the HTTPS one from your dashboard.
GoDaddy explains how the HTML section works but does not troubleshoot code from other companies, so bring widget questions to VerifiedWidget.
If the widget is still blank on the published page, work through the general checklist.
Frequently asked questions
Does GoDaddy already have a reviews section?
Yes. Websites + Marketing has a native Reviews section that can connect to Google Business Profile and other listed sources. GoDaddy says it displays up to nine reviews.
Where do I paste a VerifiedWidget script in GoDaddy?
Add an HTML section at the target position, then paste the complete script into its Custom Code field. Preview and publish the site.
Why are the last reviews cut off?
The HTML section uses an iframe. Increase Forced Height enough to fit the full content, or choose a shorter widget layout, then check the published mobile page.
Is this for GoDaddy WordPress hosting too?
No. These steps apply to Websites + Marketing. A WordPress site hosted by GoDaddy uses WordPress blocks or a page builder instead.
Will these reviews create Google search stars?
No. A business's own Google reviews on its own website are generally excluded from review star rich results under Google's self-serving review rule.
