Google reviews widget for HVAC companies

Match your reviews to the season: urgent repair pages in January and July, replacement and maintenance-plan pages the rest of the year.

Updated October 2026

Two seasons, two kinds of reader

A no-heat call in January and a furnace replacement quote in April are different decisions. The first reader wants someone who will pick up the phone tonight. The second compares equipment brands, financing, and installers over two weeks.

Treat them separately. Repair pages get a short carousel, or a badge that floats in a corner of the page. Replacement and maintenance-plan pages get a list or grid that shows reviews about the sizing explanation, the install crew, and the first service visit. Named collections in VerifiedWidget let you build "repair", "installs", and "maintenance" sets from the same Google reviews.

Certification and licence details belong next to the reviews

Refrigerant handling is federally regulated. EPA's Section 608 rules prohibit venting refrigerants while servicing air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. EPA also says technicians who maintain, service, repair, or dispose of that equipment must be certified. There are separate tests for small appliances, high-pressure systems and low-pressure systems. If your techs hold Section 608 cards, say which types on your service pages. State and local licensing for HVAC contractors varies, so list your own licence number and where it's valid in plain text beside the widget.

A review saying "the tech was clearly trained" is an opinion. Your licence number is a fact a customer can look up. Show both, and keep them clearly separate on the page.

If you advertise through Local Services Ads, the same Google reviews feed your ad rating. Google says rating and review count are signals in how those ads rank (Google help).

Example: selling a maintenance plan after a repair

  1. A tech fixes a failed capacitor in July and leaves a one-page summary of what was replaced.
  2. Three days later the office sends a short follow-up with the Google review link, to every repair customer that week.
  3. The maintenance-plan page shows a carousel of reviews from customers who mention a tune-up visit, chosen with the filter tool and a named collection.
  4. Beside the widget, your own copy states what the plan includes and costs. The review supports the sign-up. It doesn't stand in for the terms.

Request templates for heating and cooling

  1. After a repair: "Glad we got your system running again. If you'd like to leave an honest Google review about the visit, here's the link: [link]."
  2. After an install: "Your new system has had a few cycles by now. If you'd like to share how the install went, here's our review link: [link]."
  3. After a seasonal tune-up: "Thanks for booking your tune-up. If you want to tell others how it went, here's the link: [link]."

Ask every customer, not just the ones who thanked the tech. A free filter change for a review breaks Google's review policy. So does a discount on next season's tune-up, because the policy bans discounts and free services for reviews. If the reward depends on a good review, it also breaks the FTC's 2024 rule.

Don't post equipment model numbers, warranty details, or addresses in a public reply.

Set up and keep the widget current

Connect your Google Maps listing, copy the script tag, and paste it into your site. The Free plan shows up to 20 reviews, refreshed monthly. The Reviews plan syncs automatically, which matters in peak season when reviews arrive daily. Read why your own site's reviews won't show stars in search before promising anything about search appearance.

Old reviews can describe equipment or prices you no longer sell. Check each collection every quarter and remove anything out of date.

Frequently asked questions

Does the widget show my technicians' certifications?

No. Add licence numbers and certifications in your own page copy next to the widget.

Can I run different reviews on repair and replacement pages?

Yes. Save named collections and use a different widget or collection on each page.

Should I mention seasonal reviews?

Reviews about a July AC repair read oddly on a winter furnace page. Choose reviews that fit the page's job.

Can I link a review to a maintenance-plan price?

Keep prices in your own copy. A review quoting an old price can mislead.

How often do the reviews refresh?

The Free plan refreshes monthly. Automatic sync on the paid plan suits busy seasons.
