How to add Google reviews to Wix

Use Wix Editor or Wix Studio to place a real Google reviews widget on a page, then check its frame size and mobile layout.

Updated October 2026

Quick answer

  1. In the Wix Editor click Add Elements > Embed Code > Embed HTML (Wix Studio: Add Elements > Embed & Social > Embed Code).
  2. Click the new element, choose Enter Code, paste the VerifiedWidget script, and click Apply.
  3. Resize the box so the whole widget fits, publish, and open the live site.

If the box stays blank after publishing, switch to the iframe embed. In the VerifiedWidget Embed dialog, choose the iframe option. Then paste that code in the same place.

What you need before opening Wix

A saved VerifiedWidget widget with its script copied from the Embed dialog, and permission to edit and publish the Wix page. Decide where it goes first: a full section on the home page, or a short list beside a booking button.

Add the widget in five steps

  1. Connect the right Google listing

Create a free VerifiedWidget account and paste your business's Google Maps link. Confirm the business name, address, and imported reviews before designing anything. A sample preview is not evidence that your own reviews have arrived. The Free plan includes one widget, up to 20 reviews refreshed monthly, and 10,000 widget views per month.

  2. Make a layout for the available space

Choose a grid or carousel for a wide homepage section, a list for a narrow content column, or a slider for a compact strip. Avoid the badge and pop-up layouts on Wix. They float in a screen corner, but inside Wix's embed box they can only float within that box. Set colors and spacing, check the mobile preview, save, and copy the exact script tag from the widget's Embed dialog. Keep the whole snippet together. An HTML embed needs code; pasting your Google Maps profile URL into Embed a site will show a page, not the review widget.

  3. Add it in Wix Editor

Open the target page in Wix Editor. Select Add Elements, then Embed Code, Popular Embeds, and Embed HTML. Click the new HTML element, choose Enter Code, paste the VerifiedWidget script under Add your code here, and click Apply. Move the element to the section where a visitor would expect reviews. Give its box enough width and height before publishing. This visible element is not the same as Wix's site-wide Custom Code setting, which is for marketing and business tools.

  4. Or add it in Wix Studio

In the Studio Editor, open the page and choose Add Elements, Embed & Social, then Embed Code. Select Enter Code, paste the same saved snippet, and click Apply. Place the element inside the intended section and adjust its width and height for the desktop breakpoint. Studio calls this an HTML iFrame element. Its code runs in a sandboxed frame (a walled-off box). Wix allows scripts, forms and pop-ups in that box, but test the live page rather than the editor.

  5. Publish, then switch to the iframe if it is blank

Publish the Wix site and open the public URL in a private browser window. Check that the correct reviews appear and the widget does not overlap nearby text or buttons, on desktop and in Wix's mobile view. If the box is blank, open the widget's Embed dialog in VerifiedWidget, pick the iframe option, paste that code into the same Enter Code box, and publish again. The Embed HTML box already runs inside a Wix frame, so the iframe is a fallback, not a first choice. Do not turn on the domain allowlist for a Wix widget. The frame runs on a Wix address, not your domain. Also, iframe embeds are refused for restricted widgets.

Choose the right Wix page and layout

On a service business homepage, place a review grid after the short explanation of what you do and before the main contact prompt. This lets visitors see relevant feedback while they are deciding whether to get in touch. A contact page can use a short list near the form, leaving the form easy to use. For a Wix Stores product page, first check that the page area accepts an HTML embed. Dynamic product pages can have different editing controls from ordinary pages. If you cannot add an element where you want it, use a regular page that introduces the product category and links to the products.

For Wix Bookings, put a short list near the service description or booking call to action, with enough space below it for the longest review. Avoid a large floating display that covers the booking controls on a phone. If you show the widget in a shared section, check other pages that reuse that section too. One visible review section is often easier to understand than repeating the same reviews several times on one page.

Wix frame sizing and mobile checks

Wix's Embed HTML element is an iframe: the widget sits inside a separate rectangle on the page. The rectangle does not reliably grow when a long review wraps onto more lines. Increase the element's height if the last card, navigation controls, or attribution is cut off. If a wide row is clipped, widen the box or switch to a list or slider. Wix's help page notes that an HTML embed is not automatically responsive just because the original content is. Inspect the Wix mobile layout separately and resize or reposition the embed there.

Studio users should also check each breakpoint [screen size setting]. A height that fits a desktop carousel may be too short when cards stack on a narrow screen. Wix's own iframe sizing example uses width and height of 100% for an iframe placed inside its container, but that does not replace sizing the Wix element itself. You normally should not edit VerifiedWidget's supplied script to force a width; change the Wix box or widget layout first.

If text, links, or buttons inside the widget cannot be used, test the published page. Wix runs HTML embeds in a sandboxed frame with selected permissions, and editor behavior can differ from the live site. Wix also requires HTTPS content. Paste the current secure embed from the dashboard rather than an old HTTP snippet.

Widget not showing? Work through these checks

If the widget is still blank on the published page, work through the general checklist.

Should you use a Wix App Market review app?

A Wix App Market review app can be convenient if its listing supports Google reviews and its limits and current terms fit your site. VerifiedWidget is the better fit if you want the same saved display on several builders, or layouts such as grids, lists and sliders. Neither route changes Google's star-rating rules; see our guide to Google star ratings.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add Google reviews to Wix for free?

Yes. VerifiedWidget's Free plan gives you one widget with up to 20 imported reviews, monthly refreshes, and 10,000 views per month. Your Wix site must let you place an HTML embed.

What is the difference between Embed HTML and Embed a site?

Embed HTML accepts the widget's script snippet. Embed a site displays a URL in an iframe, which is not the same as placing the VerifiedWidget snippet.

Why are my reviews cropped on mobile?

The Wix HTML element has a fixed frame area. Increase its mobile height or use a more compact widget layout, then check the published page again.

Can I place this in a Wix header or footer?

Yes. Drag the HTML element over the header until Attach to Header appears, or use Move To Footer. Wix shows header and footer items on every page, so a short list or slider fits best, and every page can count toward monthly views.

Will adding this widget give my Wix page Google star results?

No. Google generally excludes a business's own reviews displayed on its own site from review star rich results.
