How to Add Google Reviews to HubSpot

To put reviews mid-page, paste the script through a rich text module's Embed option. To put them at the end of a page, use the page's Footer HTML field.

Quick answer

  1. Go to Content > Website Pages, Landing Pages or Blog (under More in some accounts) and open the page or post.
  2. Click the rich text module where reviews belong. In the left sidebar, open the Insert menu and choose Embed.
  3. Paste the VerifiedWidget script, click Insert, then Publish or Update.

HubSpot lists this embed feature on all products and plans. You need Edit and Publish permission for the page or post.

Before you start

Copy the script tag from your widget's Embed dialog in VerifiedWidget. HubSpot's embed article covers pasting an embed code into a rich text module. Its code snippets article covers the head and footer fields.

After inserting, leave the embed at its normal size. HubSpot notes that embeds containing a script tag cannot use the full-width option, because they build their content as the page loads.

Footer HTML: reviews at the end of one page

In the page editor, choose Settings > Advanced. Under Additional code snippets, paste the script into Footer HTML and publish. The widget appears where its script runs, so it lands after the rest of the page. HubSpot says Footer HTML is not available for blog posts or knowledge base articles; use the rich text Embed there.

You can also combine the two. Put this short script in Footer HTML: <script src="https://verifiedwidget.com/widget.js" crossorigin="anonymous" async></script>. It has no widget ID, so it adds no reviews by itself. A developer can then place <div data-verifiedwidget-id="YOUR_WIDGET_ID"></div> in a theme module, and the reviews fill that spot.

Domain-wide code

Settings (the gear icon) > Content > Pages holds Site Header HTML and Site Footer HTML for a domain, or for all domains. Editing it needs the Website settings permission. It cannot choose a spot inside your pages, so only the floating badge layout makes sense there.

Be careful with "Default settings for all domains". HubSpot says header or footer HTML set for all domains, or for a domain used for quotes, also appears on quotes. A review badge on a sales quote is usually not what you want, so pick the website domain only.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I paste the script in HubSpot?

In a rich text module, use Insert > Embed and paste it as embed code. For the end of a page, use Settings > Advanced > Footer HTML.

Can I add reviews to a HubSpot blog post?

Yes. Blog posts have no Footer HTML field, but a rich text module's Insert > Embed option accepts the script.

Do I need a specific HubSpot plan?

No. HubSpot lists both the embed feature and page code snippets on all products and plans. Head and footer options vary by subscription and content type.

Why did my review badge appear on quotes?

Footer HTML set for all domains also loads on HubSpot quotes. Move the script to the website domain's settings only.

Can the widget show review stars in Google search?

No. Google does not show stars for reviews a business shows about itself on its own site. See our guide to Google star ratings.
