How to Add Google Reviews to Unbounce
In the Classic Builder, a Custom HTML widget holds the review script. Smart Builder pages have no such widget, so they need a different route.

Quick answer
- Open the landing page in the Classic Builder. Drag Custom HTML from the object toolbar to the spot for reviews.
- In the Embed Custom HTML Code box, paste the VerifiedWidget script and click Save Code.
- Stretch the box, save the page, click Preview, then republish.
Unbounce says custom widgets show in Preview and on the published page, but not on the builder canvas. Its help article names no plan for this widget.
Before you start
Copy the script tag from your widget's Embed dialog in VerifiedWidget. You also need edit rights on the Unbounce page. Unbounce's own steps are in its Custom HTML guide. Its support team does not troubleshoot custom scripts, so paste the code exactly as copied.
Sizing the box for desktop and mobile
The Custom HTML box keeps the size you drag it to. Unbounce calls sizing "trial and error" after you preview. A grid of several reviews needs a tall box. A carousel needs much less height, so it suits a box beside the form.
Classic Builder pages have a separate mobile layout. Switch with the Desktop and Mobile buttons at the bottom right of the builder, then resize the box again in Mobile view. Unbounce notes that desktop and mobile share the same source. Hold Command (Mac) or Control (Windows) while you move the box, so the move applies to one view only.
Smart Builder pages and Script Manager
Unbounce lists the Custom HTML widget for Classic Builder only. On a Smart Builder page there is no spot to paste a section of code. An Unbounce staff answer in its community forum points to Script Manager for Smart Builder scripts.
Script Manager (Settings, then Script Manager) adds one script to every page on a domain. It needs your own custom domain; it does not work on the unbouncepages.com test domain. It cannot place reviews inside a section, so pair it with the badge layout. The badge floats in a corner of the screen wherever its script loads. The "Included on" setting lets you choose main pages, confirmation dialogs, or both.
Unbounce-specific problems
- Reviews cut off. The box is too small. Make it bigger in both Desktop and Mobile view, then republish.
- Two copies on one page. Unbounce warns that a script on a page and the same script in Script Manager can run twice. Keep the widget in one place.
- A/B test variants. Each variant has its own design, so add the Custom HTML widget to every variant that should show reviews. Otherwise your test compares reviews against no reviews.
- Blocked on the test domain. If you turned on the domain allowlist in VerifiedWidget (a list of sites allowed to show the widget), the page's live address must be on it.

Frequently asked questions
Which Unbounce widget holds the script?
Custom HTML, in the Classic Builder. Paste the script into the Embed Custom HTML Code box and click Save Code.
Can I add reviews to a Smart Builder page?
Not in a section, because Smart Builder has no Custom HTML widget. On a custom domain, Script Manager can load a floating badge on every page of that domain.
Why are the reviews cut off on phones?
The mobile layout has its own box size. Switch to Mobile view, resize the Custom HTML box, and republish.
Will the reviews show while I edit?
No. Unbounce shows custom widgets in Preview and on the published page only.
Do reviews on my landing page give me stars in Google?
No. Google does not show review stars for a business's reviews of itself on its own site. Our star ratings guide explains the rule.
