How to Add Google Reviews to ClickFunnels
ClickFunnels has three places for code: an HTML/JS element on one step, Footer Code for a page or funnel, and site-wide code. Here is when to use each.
Updated October 2026
Quick answer
- In the page editor, add a section and a row. Click the orange + (Add New Element) and choose HTML/JS from the MISC category.
- In the element settings, click Open Code Editor and paste the VerifiedWidget script.
- Save, then click the Preview (eye) icon to check the step.
ClickFunnels lists only "an active ClickFunnels account" as the requirement for this element.
Before you start
Copy your widget's script tag from the Embed dialog in VerifiedWidget. ClickFunnels documents the HTML/JS element and calls it an advanced feature. Its support team does not troubleshoot custom code. Do not wrap the script in <html> or <body> tags. ClickFunnels says the element already sits inside the page body.
Give the row enough width. ClickFunnels' embed guide suggests a one-column row for wide widgets, so a grid or carousel is not squeezed.
One step, a whole funnel, or the whole site
ClickFunnels' tracking code guide lists three levels:
- One page: the HTML/JS element, or Settings > Tracking Code inside the page editor. Use the element when reviews must sit in a set spot, such as above the order button.
- One funnel: Header Code or Footer Code in the funnel's settings runs on every page of that funnel.
- Whole site: Site Settings in the Site & Blog app runs on courses, blogs, store pages and all funnel pages.
Funnel or site Footer Code cannot choose a spot inside a section. It suits the badge layout, which floats in a corner of every page. For an in-page layout on many steps, add an HTML/JS element to each step instead.
ClickFunnels Classic
In Classic, open the funnel step and click Edit Page. Go to Elements > Add Element and pick Custom JS/HTML under Misc Elements. Click the gear icon, then Open Code Editor, and paste the script. Set Custom Code Type to 3rd Party Embed Code, then save. The steps are in the Classic article.
ClickFunnels-specific problems
- Widget does not render. ClickFunnels suggests putting the HTML in the element and the JavaScript in Footer Code. With VerifiedWidget, put a placeholder
<div data-verifiedwidget-id="YOUR_WIDGET_ID"></div>in the element. Then put this script in the page's Footer Code:<script src="https://verifiedwidget.com/widget.js" crossorigin="anonymous" async></script> - Reviews twice on a step. The full dashboard script is in both the element and Footer Code. Keep one copy.
- Page broken after a code change. ClickFunnels warns that bad code can break a page. Change one thing, save, and check the live step before copying it to other steps.

Frequently asked questions
Which ClickFunnels element do I use?
HTML/JS, in the MISC category of the page editor. ClickFunnels Classic calls it Custom JS/HTML.
Can one code box show reviews on every step?
Yes. Funnel-level Footer Code runs on every page of that funnel. Use it with the floating badge layout, because it cannot place reviews inside a section.
Can I add reviews near checkout?
Yes, if the step lets you add an HTML/JS element there. Keep the layout small and away from payment fields.
Does ClickFunnels support help with custom code?
No. ClickFunnels says its support does not troubleshoot custom code, so test each change on the live step.
Will these reviews show as stars in Google?
No. Google does not give review stars to a business for reviews of itself shown on its own site. Our star ratings guide has the details.
