Where Podium is stronger
Podium works on both sides of a review. It sends the invitation and reminder, then collects the response in an inbox next to calls, texts and notes. For a service business, a bad review often needs a private follow-up, and the inbox keeps that history together.
It also offers reporting and a mobile app. VerifiedWidget only displays reviews and has no inbox for replies or customer messages.
Where VerifiedWidget is stronger
You can see the whole product before talking to anyone: paste a Maps link, choose a layout, copy the script. Pricing is published, with a free plan.
Badges, grids, carousels, walls and media layouts are included. With filtering, hiding and named collections, you can put reviews beside a booking button without a messaging-suite contract.
Before you decide
A widget swap does not replace Podium's review requests or shared inbox. List the jobs your staff actually use Podium for before touching the contract. Podium's public pages don't say whether a quote includes an embeddable review widget, its layouts or how views are counted, so ask for those in writing.
Neither product can earn you review stars in Google search for your own reviews on your own site. Here is why.
Switching from Podium
- Find each Podium item on your site and sort it: review display, webchat, or review-request link. Only a review display can be replaced.
- Build the Google widget in VerifiedWidget and test it on a staging page.
- Check review dates and mobile fit.
- Replace that one embed and leave Podium messaging and invitations alone unless you plan a separate migration.
