How to add Google reviews to Lovable, Bolt, or v0

Give the builder an exact placement and your real widget ID, then test the published page, not just the preview.

Updated October 2026

Quick answer

  1. Copy your widget ID from the Embed dialog in VerifiedWidget. It is the code after data-widget-id= in the script.
  2. Send the builder the prompt below, with your widget ID pasted in and the page named.
  3. Ask it which files changed, and check that the widget ID is exactly right.
  4. Publish and open the live page.

What you need

A project in Lovable, Bolt or v0 that you can publish. These tools write the site's code for you instead of offering an Embed element. Lovable's code editor is read-only on the Free plan, so Free users should use chat. Bolt has a code view (the <> icon) and v0 has a Code tab; both let you edit.

Install the real widget

  1. Build and save the widget first

Connect the business in VerifiedWidget, pick the layout, and save. Never paste a private API key into a prompt. Your widget ID and the public loader script are the only items the builder needs.

  2. Send a precise prompt

Vague requests like “add Google reviews” often produce invented quotes or sample cards. Try: “On the home page, add a ‘Customer reviews’ section after the services section and before the contact form. Inside it, put an empty div with data-verifiedwidget-id="[your widget ID]". Load https://verifiedwidget.com/widget.js once for the whole site, in index.html or the root layout, with no data-widget-id attribute. Do not invent reviews or add sample review data. Tell me which files changed.”

This placeholder method suits AI builders. The loader script fills any element marked with your widget ID, including ones that appear after a page change.

  3. Check what it generated

Most sites from these builders use React (a code library for building pages). Pasting the dashboard script tag straight into a React component is not reliable. Depending on the React version, it may never run. React 19 moves it into the page head instead, so the reviews appear at the very bottom of the page. That is why the prompt uses a placeholder. Check that the generated code has the empty placeholder in your section and the loader script only once. Our React guide shows the exact code.

If you edit by hand, use Lovable's code editor (saving needs a paid plan), Bolt's code view or v0's Code tab.

  4. Publish and test the live page

In v0, choose Publish in the chat header, then Publish Changes after later edits. Bolt and Lovable have their own publish buttons. Test the exact page on the published domain, not only the preview pane, and check a phone-sized view.

AI-builder problems

Tell the builder the symptom and the page, such as “the reviews section is empty on /services”. Do not just say “fix it”. That keeps the parts that already work.

Keeping AI edits from breaking the widget

Each time you ask the builder to redesign a page, it may rewrite the section that holds the placeholder. After every big change, ask it to confirm that the placeholder and the loader script are still there. Then check the live page again. Keep your widget ID in a note outside the project, so you can paste it back in if something goes wrong. If you switch to a different widget, copy the new ID from the dashboard. Do not let the builder guess it.

Frequently asked questions

Can Lovable Free users add the widget?

Yes, by asking Lovable's chat to make the change. Direct editing in the Code tab needs a paid plan.

Where is code editing in Bolt or v0?

Bolt documents a code-view icon. v0 documents a Code tab next to the preview.

Why do I see sample reviews instead of mine?

The builder likely created sample cards. Ask it to remove invented review data and use only the VerifiedWidget placeholder and loader.

Why are my reviews at the bottom of the page?

The script tag was moved into the page head. Use the empty placeholder div in your section, with the loader script loaded once for the site.

Can I paste an API key into the prompt?

No. Use only the public embed script from the dashboard, and keep private keys out of prompts and site code.
