How to add Google reviews to Notion
Notion pages cannot run a pasted script. Publish through a site builder that allows custom embeds, or link to your hosted reviews page.
Updated October 2026
Quick answer
- Simplest: paste your hosted page link,
verifiedwidget.com/r/your-widget-id, into Notion and choose Paste as bookmark (or keep it as a plain link). No code needed. - Live widget with Super: add a code block (type
/code) withsuper-embed:on the first line and your script below it. Super lists custom embeds as a paid-plan feature. - Other Notion site tools: some, such as Potion, may let you add your own code. Check their help docs for a custom HTML or code option.
What you need
A saved VerifiedWidget widget and its Embed dialog code. For a live widget you also need a Notion site tool such as Super. Check its current plans on its site.
The three routes in detail
Why plain Notion will not work
A script tag pasted into a normal Notion page, or into Notion's own embed block, will not run as your widget. Notion's embeds help says an embed takes a web address starting with https, not code. The embed block shows other web pages. It does not run scripts.
Route A: Super
Super documents custom embeds through a code block that starts with
super-embed:. Follow Super's instructions and paste your VerifiedWidget script where it asks for embed code.Route B: another Notion site tool
Other tools that turn Notion pages into websites, such as Potion, may offer a custom code option. We could not confirm their current steps, so check their help docs before you pay. Look for a place that accepts HTML in the page body, not only in the page head. Code in the head would put the reviews at the very bottom of the page.
Route C: link to the hosted page
Each widget has a public reviews page at
/r/{widgetId}. Add it to Notion as a bookmark or a normal text link. Do not use an embed block: the page tells browsers not to show it inside other sites. This route needs no code. The page also has an llms.txt (a plain-text file written for AI tools), which makes your reviews easier for AI tools to read.
Notion-specific problems
- The Super code block just shows text. The builder only runs embeds in the exact format it documents. Recheck the
super-embed:prefix and your Super plan. - The embed block says “Failed to Load”. Notion shows this when a site blocks embedding, and VerifiedWidget's hosted pages refuse to appear inside other pages. Use a bookmark or plain link instead.
- You publish with Notion Sites. Notion's Sites help lists options such as a favicon, navigation, Google Analytics and a custom domain. It lists no custom code option, so use the bookmark route there.
- Visitors leave the page. With route C the reviews open on another page. Add a line such as “Read our Google reviews” near the top, not buried at the bottom.
Where to put reviews on a Notion-built site
On a Notion portfolio, service or product page, put the review block right after a claim, such as your services list. Use a grid or masonry layout in a wide section, and a carousel or slider when height is tight. The badge layout is different: it floats in a corner of the screen, wherever the code sits. Hide reviews that do not belong and keep the strongest-fit ones in a named collection. VerifiedWidget imports reviews from Google; you cannot write them yourself.
What visitors see with each route
With route C, visitors click through to a clean page of your Google reviews, then come back. It is the safest choice if you do not want to pay for a site tool. With Super or a similar tool, the reviews can appear inside your page like any other section. Either way, you can hide any review that does not suit the page. Keep the review date and Google label switched on in the widget, so visitors can see where each review came from. Check the page on a phone, because Notion-based sites tend to be narrow, and choose a list or carousel rather than a wide grid.
Frequently asked questions
Can I paste a script into a Notion page?
No. Native Notion pages do not run arbitrary scripts. Use a site builder that supports custom embeds, or link to your hosted reviews page.
Which Notion site tools work?
Super documents a custom embed route on its paid plans. Other tools, such as Potion, may offer custom code; check their current help docs and plans.
What is the easiest option?
Linking to your hosted reviews page. It needs no code and no extra subscription.
Will Google show stars for these reviews?
No. Google's self-serving review rule applies however you display them. See our guide to Google star ratings.
