How to add Google reviews to Carrd

Put real customer reviews beside your offer or contact button on a Carrd site, using one Embed element.

Updated October 2026

Quick answer

  1. Copy the script tag from your widget's Embed dialog in VerifiedWidget.
  2. In Carrd, add an Embed element where the reviews should sit.
  3. Set Type to Code and Style to Inline, then paste the script into the code field.
  4. Publish the site and open the live address.

What you need

A Carrd site on Pro Standard or higher, because Carrd limits custom-code embeds to those plans, and a saved VerifiedWidget widget. The VerifiedWidget Free plan is enough for one widget.

Add the widget in four steps

  1. Pick a compact layout

Carrd pages are short and narrow, so a slider or small carousel usually fits better than a grid. A long grid pushes your main button far down the page. The badge layout works differently: it floats in a corner of the screen, wherever you paste it. Check the phone view in VerifiedWidget before you save and copy the full script tag.

  2. Add the Embed element

Open the site in Carrd's editor, click Add Element (the + button) in the section where the reviews belong, and choose Embed. Place it below your main explanation and next to the button or form it supports.

  3. Choose Code and Inline

In the element's settings, set Type to Code. Set Style to Inline so the reviews show where you put the element. Paste the whole script tag, including the opening and closing tags.

  4. Publish and check a phone

Carrd's docs say an Embed element shows nothing in the builder, so a blank box there is normal. Publish, then open the live URL on a computer and on a real phone. Make sure the cards are readable and the page does not scroll sideways. Republish after every change.

Where reviews work best on a one-page site

A Carrd site is usually one scroll: headline, offer, proof, action. Reviews belong in the proof slot, directly above the button, form or booking link they support. If the page has several calls to action, put the reviews just before the final button, where the visitor decides.

Give the section a plain heading such as “What customers say”. In VerifiedWidget you can hide reviews that do not suit the page and keep the rest in a named collection. A short landing page can then show only the three or four that answer the visitor's main doubt. Only real Google reviews are shown; the widget cannot display invented ones.

If you run a separate Carrd page for each service or location, create one widget per page and name each one clearly in the dashboard. The Free plan covers one widget; the Reviews plan allows unlimited widgets.

Carrd-specific problems

For blocked scripts, consent tools and caching, see the checklist in the WordPress guide; it applies to any site.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Carrd's free plan?

No. Carrd lists custom-code embeds from Pro Standard. You can still build the widget on VerifiedWidget's Free plan.

Should I use an Embed or a Text element?

Use an Embed element with Type Code and Style Inline. A Text element is for text and will not run the script.

Why does it work on one domain but not another?

If your VerifiedWidget domain allowlist is on, each Carrd subdomain and custom domain must be allowed separately.

How many reviews should a landing page show?

A few relevant reviews near the main offer. Preview on mobile and shorten the layout if it buries your call to action.
