How to add Google reviews to Showit
Place customer reviews on a Showit canvas with the Embed Code element, then check the desktop and mobile designs separately.

Quick answer
- Copy the script tag from your widget's Embed dialog in VerifiedWidget.
- In the Showit Design App, hover the Element icon and choose Embed Code.
- Select the box, open Embed Info in the Properties Panel, click Custom Code and paste the script.
- Repeat the placement in the mobile view, then publish.
What you need
A Showit website plan and the Design App; the Embed Code element is part of it. Showit's embed guide names no plan for it. A blog post on a Showit WordPress blog is different: it uses WordPress, so follow the WordPress guide and check your blog plan with Showit.
Place reviews on a Showit canvas
Choose a carousel or compact grid
Showit pages are laid out to the pixel, so pick a layout with a predictable height. A carousel suits a horizontal testimonial band; a compact grid suits a wider services page. Save the widget and copy the full script tag.
Pick a canvas that is always visible
Put the reviews after a service description or package summary. Avoid a canvas view that only appears after a click. Showit's help notes that some embed code does not display correctly on hidden canvases or canvas views.
Add the Embed Code element
Hover over the Element icon in the bottom toolbar and choose Embed Code. Select the black box on the canvas, open Embed Info in the right-side Properties Panel, click Custom Code, paste the script and save. Resize the box so the cards have room.
Do it again for mobile, then publish
Each Showit page has a desktop and a mobile design. Size and position can differ between them. Switch to the mobile view, confirm the embed is visible and sits where you want it, and size it there. Publish and open the real page outside the Design App.
Showit-specific problems
- Visible on desktop, missing on mobile (or the reverse). Showit lets you hide an element on one design only. In the Site Panel, open the canvas to see its element list. Check the phone and desktop icons beside the Embed Code element (Showit's show/hide guide).
- Cards are clipped. The box and the canvas that contains it both need enough height. Showit renders embed code as supplied and does not scale it, so a slider or small carousel is easier to fit than a masonry wall.
- You cannot paste into Custom Code. Showit documents a browser clipboard permission issue. Allow clipboard access for app.showit.com in Chrome and reload the Design App.
- You are trying to add it to a blog post. Blog posts are written in WordPress, not on a Showit canvas, so the Embed Code element does not apply. Add the script with a Custom HTML block in WordPress, or use a normal Showit page. If the block is missing, ask Showit support about your blog plan.
Do not paste the script into a page's Custom Head HTML (in Advanced Settings) or into Global Custom Code in site settings. Code there runs in the page head, so the reviews would land at the very bottom of the page.
Where it helps most on a studio site
Photographers and other service businesses on Showit often have a services page, a pricing guide and a contact page. Reviews do the most work on the pricing or inquiry page, right before the inquiry form. That is where a visitor decides whether to get in touch. A single line above the widget, such as “Reviews from our Google profile”, makes the source clear.
If you have more than one location or studio, make sure the connected Google listing matches the location named on that page. You can also hide reviews that do not fit the page and keep the best-fit ones in a named collection.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need Showit's blog plan?
Showit's embed guide names no plan for the Embed Code element on a normal page. Blog posts use WordPress instead, so see the WordPress guide.
Which Showit element accepts the script?
Element, then Embed Code, then Embed Info and Custom Code in the Properties Panel.
Why is the widget cropped on mobile?
The mobile Embed Code box or its canvas is probably too short. Adjust the mobile dimensions or choose a more compact layout.
Can I paste the script into Custom Head HTML?
No. That area is for head code. Use a visible Embed Code element so you control where the reviews appear.
