How to Add Google Reviews to Thinkific
On Thinkific, reviews go into a Text & Media section of a Site Builder page. Site Footer Code is the other option, for several pages at once.

Quick answer
- In your admin dashboard go to Channels > Website and open the page in Site Builder.
- Click Add section, choose Text & Media, and open it.
- Delete the sample text, click the </> code view button, paste the VerifiedWidget script, click code view again, and Save.
Thinkific lists Text & Media for course, community and bundle landing pages, the home page, the coming soon page and custom pages.
Before you start
You need your widget's script tag and its widget ID, both in the Embed dialog in VerifiedWidget. Thinkific's guide to embedding content on a landing page uses the same Text & Media steps. Thinkific does not give direct support for code customizations, so keep a copy of what you paste.
Reviews on several pages: Site Footer Code
Thinkific's Site Footer Code is under Settings > Code & Analytics. It runs on most pages of your school. Thinkific lists it on the Basic, Start, Grow, Expand and Plus plans, and on the legacy Pro, Pro + Growth and Premier plans. You need the Site Owner or Site Admin role.
The VerifiedWidget script shows reviews right where it runs. In Site Footer Code, that is the bottom of every page. To choose the spot instead, use a placeholder:
- In Site Footer Code, paste this short script. It has no widget ID, so it shows nothing by itself:
<script src="https://verifiedwidget.com/widget.js" crossorigin="anonymous" async></script> - On each page that should show reviews, add a Text & Media section. In code view, paste
<div data-verifiedwidget-id="YOUR_WIDGET_ID"></div>with your own widget ID.
Pages without the placeholder stay clean. If you want reviews on every page anyway, use the badge layout, which floats in a corner instead of sitting at the bottom.
Where Site Footer Code does not run
- Performance Checkout. Thinkific says Site Footer Code does not run there. The older Two-Page Checkout does run it.
- Communities and direct messages. Excluded by default.
- Learner Hub and the new Course Player. Not by default. Thinkific has a separate setting to turn it on there.
So a badge that floats on your sales pages will not follow students into checkout or the community. That is documented behavior, not a failed install.
Thinkific-specific problems
- No reviews inside a lesson. The new Course Builder embeds content by link, inside an iframe (a window showing another web page), per Thinkific's embedded content guide. A script tag cannot go there. Put reviews on a landing page instead.
- Two widgets on one page. The full dashboard script is in Site Footer Code and also in a Text & Media section. Keep one.
- Code view shows nothing. Expected for a placeholder: it fills in on the published page once the footer script loads.
Other reasons for a blank widget are in our widget-not-showing checklist.
Frequently asked questions
Which Thinkific section holds the script?
Text & Media. Open its content editor, switch to code view with the </> button, and paste the script.
Why do my reviews appear at the bottom of every page?
The full script is in Site Footer Code, and the widget shows where its script runs. Use the placeholder method, or move the script into one Text & Media section.
Which plans include Site Footer Code?
Thinkific lists Basic, Start, Grow, Expand and Plus, plus the legacy Pro, Pro + Growth and Premier plans.
Will the widget appear on Performance Checkout?
No. Thinkific says Site Footer Code does not run on Performance Checkout pages.
Will reviews on my course page show as stars in Google?
No. Google does not show review stars for a business's own reviews on its own site. Our star ratings guide covers the rule.
