How to Add Google Reviews to Weebly
Weebly's Embed Code element holds the review script on one page. For every page, the Footer Code box under Settings works with a floating badge.

Quick answer
- In the Weebly editor, drag the Embed Code element to where reviews belong.
- Click inside it, choose Edit Custom HTML, and paste the VerifiedWidget script.
- Click outside the element, then Publish and open the live site.
Weebly says some code shows nothing inside the editor, so the published page is the real test.
Before you start
Copy the script tag from the Embed dialog in VerifiedWidget. Weebly (now part of Square) explains the element in its embed code article. It names no plan for the element, and it says Weebly cannot give in-depth help with third-party code.
Reviews on every page: Settings > SEO
Open the editor and click Settings at the top, then SEO. Weebly's site settings article lists Footer and Header Code boxes there. Code in these boxes loads on every page of the site.
These boxes cannot choose a spot in your layout. Paste a badge widget's script into Footer Code and it floats in a corner on every page. Keep grids and carousels in Embed Code elements, where you control the position.
Picking the spot on a Weebly page
An Embed Code element is only as wide as the spot you drop it in. Put a grid in a full-width section under your services. A list layout suits a narrow column beside a contact form. For a restaurant or shop, put reviews near the opening hours or map.
Weebly-specific problems
- Nothing shows in the editor. Expected for some code. Publish and check the live page.
- Odd results or a broken page. Weebly warns that incomplete code, or extra characters, can cause problems. Paste the whole script again, exactly as copied.
- Still broken. Weebly's advice: delete the Embed Code element and publish again. If that fixes it, the pasted code was the cause.
- Blocked after you set a domain allowlist. The allowlist is a VerifiedWidget setting that limits which sites can show your widget. Weebly shows your site's address under Settings > General > Site Address. Add that address, and any custom domain, to the list.
- Badge on top of reviews. The badge script is in Footer Code and a full widget is in an element. Both will show, so decide which one each page needs.
If the live page is still empty, work through our widget-not-showing checklist.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Weebly element called?
Embed Code. Click inside it and choose Edit Custom HTML to paste the script.
Why is the widget missing in the editor?
Weebly says some code does not display in the editor. Publish and check the public page.
Can I show reviews on every page?
Yes, with a badge widget. Paste its script into Footer Code under Settings > SEO, and it floats on every page.
Does Weebly help with third-party code?
Only a little. Weebly documents the Embed Code element but says it cannot give in-depth troubleshooting for outside code.
Will reviews on my Weebly site show stars in Google?
No. Google does not show stars for a business's reviews of itself on its own site; see our star ratings guide.
