How to add Google reviews to WooCommerce

Add Google reviews to a WooCommerce store with a Custom HTML block on a page, or inside a shop or product template.

Updated October 2026

Quick answer

  1. Copy the script tag from your widget's Embed dialog in VerifiedWidget.
  2. Edit your shop, home or About page and add a Custom HTML block.
  3. Paste the script, update the page, and view it signed out.
  4. For product pages, do the same in the Single Product template (Appearance > Editor > Templates).

What you need

A WordPress site with WooCommerce and a user role allowed to add unfiltered HTML. WooCommerce has no script setting of its own; it uses WordPress blocks and templates, described in its store-editing docs. If your role cannot add scripts, the WordPress guide explains which roles can.

Steps for WooCommerce

  1. Pick a store-friendly layout

A slider or short list suits a product template that repeats on every item. A badge is different: it floats in a screen corner rather than sitting in the template. A larger grid or carousel fits the home or About page. Save the widget and copy the script.

  2. A single page: Custom HTML block

Open the page in the block editor, add a Custom HTML block, paste the script, and update.

  3. Shop or product templates: Site Editor

On a block theme go to Appearance > Editor > Templates. WooCommerce names the product page template Single Product and the shop page template Product Catalog. Open one, add a Custom HTML block below the product details, paste the script and save.

The templates contain WooCommerce placeholder blocks, such as the product price or add-to-cart area. WooCommerce advises moving them or adding blocks around them, never deleting them, to avoid side effects in your store.

A classic (older-style) theme has no Site Editor for shop templates; WooCommerce says you will see Appearance > Customize instead. There, use a widget area, a theme footer setting, or your page builder's HTML element.

  4. Check the whole shopping flow

View the live page signed out, then add an item to the cart and go through checkout to confirm nothing broke. Leave the Cart and Checkout pages without reviews. WooCommerce builds them from their own blocks, and shoppers there need a clear path to pay.

WooCommerce-specific problems

Where reviews fit in a store

Use a full review block on the home page, About or services pages and the bottom of the shop. On product pages a slider or short list is usually enough. Keep cart and checkout uncluttered. Back up the site before editing templates, and use a named collection of the reviews that mention delivery, packaging or support.

Testing a template change safely

Edit templates on a staging copy when you can. If you have to edit the live store, make the change outside peak hours and keep a note of what you added so you can remove it quickly. After saving, view a simple product, a variable product (one with size or color choices) and the shop page, on desktop and phone. On a variable product, pick an option and check the reviews stay in place below the price and buttons. Block themes keep these changes in the theme's templates, so if you switch themes later, you will need to add the block again.

Frequently asked questions

Will the widget slow down my shop?

It loads one script from VerifiedWidget and fetches your saved reviews separately. Test a product page before and after, and exclude the script from any plugin that delays or combines JavaScript if it misbehaves.

Does the reviews widget replace WooCommerce product reviews?

No. It shows Google reviews of your business. Product reviews stay in WooCommerce and are about individual items.

Do I need a WooCommerce plugin?

No. Paste the VerifiedWidget script into a Custom HTML block or a page builder code element.

Can I add reviews to every product page?

Yes, through the single-product template in the Site Editor, if your theme supports it.

What if my theme has no Site Editor?

Classic themes do not let you edit shop templates in the Site Editor. Use a widget area, your theme's footer setting, or your page builder's HTML element instead.

Does WooCommerce have a special setting for this?

Not that we found documented. It uses WordPress blocks and templates.
